Abstract
A rapid, improved, and environmentally benign synthesis of 4βarylacridinediones is reported via oneβpot multicomponent reaction of aromatic aldehydes, dimedone, and ammonium acetate in water without any catalyst under microwave irradiation. Excellent yields, shortest reaction time, and easy workβup are attractive features of this green protocol. J. Heterocyclic Chem., 2011..
