DNA from malignant cells is present in the serum/plasma of cancer patients and DNA from this source is amenable to analysis by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In the present study, we evaluated whether Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA is present in the serum of patients with EBV-associated Hodgkin's di
## Abstract Sera from Swedish patients with Hodgkin's disease as well as control sera from donors without known disease were titrated for antibodies to the EpsteinβBarr virus (EBV) by the indirect immunofluorescence technique. In the same sera antibodies capable of blocking the direct membrane immu
## Abstract EpsteinβBarr virus (EBV) type 2 is considered to be a much less potent transformer of lymphocytes than typeβ1. However, typeβ2 EBV may be involved in the pathogenesis of nonβHodgkin's lymphomas (NHLs) arising in immunocompromised patients, i.e., subjects with malaria or HIVβ1 infection.
In a recent report, we described the features of 14 cases of Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (HHV8/KSHV)-related non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) occurring during the follow-up of 60 HIVinfected patients with multicentric Castleman disease (MCD) [1]. Herein we report a new case of NHL arising in t
