The absolute cross section σ (E) for the radiative capture reaction 7 Be(p, γ ) 8 B at the center-ofmass energies E = 0.32 to 2.61 MeV has been measured using a 7 Be target deposited on a Cu backing and observing the β-delayed α-particles from 8 B. We calculate several "size-like" 8B observables within the microscopic three-cluster model and study their potential constraints on the zero-energy astrophysical S17(0) factor of the 7Be(p,T)SB reaction. We find within our three-cluster model that a simultaneous reproduction of the experimental data
