✦ Synopsis
In the title compound, C 20 H 17 ClN 2 O 4 , the vanillin group makes dihedral angles of 54.50 (10) and 23.85 (15) with the chlorobenzene ring and the furan mean plane, respectively. Packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds and weak non-classical intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen-bonding interactions that link adjacent molecules into one-dimensional extended chains.

In the title compound, C~23~H~20~Cl~2~N~2~O~4~·1.5H~2~O, the vanillin group makes dihedral angles of 0.52 (14) and 81.22 (7)° with the benzohydrazide residue and the dichlorobenzene ring, respectively. An intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond helps to stabilize the molecular conformation, while inter
