The title compound, C 27 H 24 ClN 3 O 6 , a probable new herbicide, was synthesized by the reaction of 4,6-dimethoxy-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyrimidine and methyl 4-[2-chloro-4-(2-hydroxybenzylamino)phenoxy]benzoate in tetrahydrofuran. -Interactions occur between neighbouring benzene rings.
In the title compound, C 16 H 13 ClN 2 O 2 , the dihedral angle between the pyridine and benzene rings is 40.1 (1) . There is a weak intramolecular C-HÁ Á ÁCl interaction. Molecules are linked via O-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bonds, forming chains of graph-set motif C(6) along the a axis.
In the title compound, C 15 H 14 ClO 2 , the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 57.37 (12) .
In the title compound, C 19 H 18 NO 2 + . C 7 H 7 SO 3 À , the cation is almost planar and the benzene ring of the anion makes dihedral angles of 59.17 (9) and 60.59 (10) with the mean planes through the quinolinium and benzene ring of the cation, respectively. The cations and anions are packed as a
