In the title compound, C 30 H 24 ClNO 3 S, the phenylsulfonyl, chlorophenyl and methoxyphenyl rings are each almost perpendicular to the indole ring system. The crystal packing shows centrosymmetrically related pairs of molecules. Intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO interactions are present.

The title compound, C 14 H 12 N 2 O 4 , exists as an enol-imine tautomer, in which a strong intramolecular O-HÁ Á ÁN hydrogen bond is formed. This study verifies the preference of the enol-imine tautomeric form in the solid state.

In the approximately planar molecule of the title compound, C 15 H 10 BrNO 3 , the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 4.97 (18) . Intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO interactions help to form chains of molecules in the crystal structure.

In the title compound, C~28~H~22~BrN~3~O~5~S·0.5C~4~H~10~O, the tetrahydropyrazine ring adopts a distorted half-chair conformation. The bromobenzaldehyde substituent has an axial orientation, while the 4-nitrophenyl group is in an equatorial position. The benzene rings of these substituents are not
