New transient phase transition phenomena are reported for near-isobaric temperature excursions caused by a step input in heating power supplied from a composite conductor Nb Ti/Cu to superfluid He II above its thermodynamic critical pressure Pc. Transient triple phase phenomena are found not only below Pc but also above Pc during dua/-lambda transitions from He II to He I and from pseudo-liquid to pseudo-vapour of He/. Consequences are presented for stabilization of superconducting magnets.

Transient higher order phase transitions have been observed above the critical pressure at 3 bar during near-isobaric phase transitions which intersect the transposed critical curve (TCC). Application of a step input in power from the composite Nb Ti/Cu to He 4 at 4.2 K causes temperature changes wi
