Abstract
A printed diversity dipole antenna suitable for applications in wireless local area network (WLAN) access points in the 2.4 GHz (2400β2484 MHz) and 5.2 GHz (5150β5350 MHz) bands is presented. The antenna comprises two stacked printed dipoles placed backβtoβback. Each stacked dipole consists of two larger dipole arms for 2.4βGHz band operation and two smaller dipole arms for 5.2βGHz band operation. In addition, the proposed antenna can provide spatial diversity, because the obtained radiation patterns of the two stacked dipoles are directional in two complementary half spaces and the access point can thus switch between the two stacked dipoles for WLAN communication with maximum signal strength. Experimental results of a constructed prototype are presented. Β© 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A new design of the printed trident monopole antenna for applications in 2.4/5.2 GHz dualβband wireless local area network (WLAN) access points is presented. The trident monopole antenna comprises a central arm for the 2.4 GHz band (2.4β2.484 GHz) operation and two side arms for the 5.2
A dual-band printed diversity antenna for 2.4/5.2-GHz WLAN operation is proposed. The antenna consists of two orthogonal C-shaped monopoles placed symmetrically with respect to a protruding T-shaped ground plane. Across the two bands, the antenna has two highly decoupled ports and can provide spatia
