✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A new kind of planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) is presented. To reduce the size of the structure, the resonator has been curled under itself. A capacitive load is added to decrease the frequencies of higher resonances. The result is the achievement of a dual‐band antenna. Theoretical results are computed by the software design package IE3D. The effects of various physical parameters are presented and discussed. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A dual‐band planar inverted‐F antenna (PIFA), presented here, covers both 2.4‐ and 5‐GHz bands used in all IEEE 802.11 WLAN standards. Computed and measured return loss and radiation patterns of the antenna are presented and are in reasonable agreement. Experimental results indicate a v
## Abstract This paper proposes a novel dual‐band printed inverted‐F antenna, and a constructed prototype suitable for applications in the WLAN (2400–2484 MHz) and HIPERLAN (5150–5350 MHz) systems is presented. The antenna consists of two stacked inverted‐F strips printed on a dielectric substrate,
## Abstract By embedding a branch‐line slit in the radiating patch of a planar inverted‐F patch antenna, novel 900 and 1800 MHz dual‐band operation is obtained. The embedded branch‐line slit has two branch slits (one long folded slit and one short bent slit) protruding from the main slit which has
