✦ Synopsis

Abstract

This paper proposes a new dual‐band planar inverted‐F antenna (PIFA) for ISM‐band applications. The proposed antenna is designed using the Microwave Studio Software of Computer Simulation Technology (CST). The measured results of the antenna are compared with the simulated results. The effects of antenna parameters such as the slit geometry and ground plane are studied. Both lower and upper frequency bands can be determined independently, which is very useful for the design of dual‐band antennas. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A new kind of planar inverted F antenna (PIFA) is presented. To reduce the size of the structure, the resonator has been curled under itself. A capacitive load is added to decrease the frequencies of higher resonances. The result is the achievement of a dual‐band antenna. Theoretical re

## Abstract This paper proposes a novel dual‐band printed inverted‐F antenna, and a constructed prototype suitable for applications in the WLAN (2400–2484 MHz) and HIPERLAN (5150–5350 MHz) systems is presented. The antenna consists of two stacked inverted‐F strips printed on a dielectric substrate,
