✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Dual‐band bandpass filters using defected ground structures (DGS) are presented in this letter. Dual‐band characteristics are obtained using the two resonant frequencies (modes) of a novel DGS. Two configurations of dual‐band bandpass filters are presented in this article. Both the filters are designed, fabricated, and measured. Measured results show good agreement with the simulated results. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A new structure of ultra‐wide band (UWB) band pass filter is proposed in this letter. The proposed UWB filter consists of a low pass filter and a quasi‐high pass filter. The low pass frequency characteristic is realized with a dumbbell defected ground structure (DGS) array and narrow sl
