✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This article proposes a new dual‐band microstrip resonator, addressed as hole resonator, to be integrated in dual‐band bandpass filters. The main advantage of this structure is that it can be easily coupled in parallel to other resonators since its profile is constant, in contrast with nonconstant profile resonators, such as the stepped‐impedance resonator. Thus, the design process is simpler and less time‐consuming. The hole resonator is characterized by theoretical analysis and validated through electromagnetic simulation and measurements. Finally it is integrated in a bandpass filter to demonstrate its suitability. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A compact dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) realized with stepped impedance resonators (SIR) and T‐shaped line is proposed in this article. By appropriately selecting the impedance ratio of the SIR, a passband around at 5.4 GHz can be achieved by the second harmonic frequency of the SIR.
## Abstract We propose a compact dual band bandpass filter (BPF) using meandering stepped impedance resonators (SIRs). By appropriately selecting the impedance ratio (K) of the SIR, the harmonic frequencies can be tuned for generating the dual‐passband response. Using this structure, the bandwidth
