✦ Synopsis

NMR experiments with amphtude modulated rf pulses arc introduced for the detection of double quantum coherenccs from spin I = 1 nuclei with large quadrupolar frequeycp VQ in solids. rf pulses of intensity ~t and with modulation frcqucncy vrn create effective irradiation fields of mtenslty ~YJ(LQ -urn) < vQ + v,. 2D-IWR measurements on an orlented single crystal on the double quantum transition when ~1 < lvQ -1.~1 of deuterated malonic acid are presented.

The NMR double-quantum response to a three-pulse sequence of dipolar coupled spin-l/2 pairs in powder samples spinning at the magic angle is investigated for arbitrary spinning frequencies. It is shown that double-quantum spinning sideband patterns result from the rotor modulation of the dipolar Ham
