β¦ Synopsis
The effects of double CuO2 layers in YBa2CuaO6+x for 0 < x < 1 were studied critically. For x= 0, the superexchange interaction through Y enhances the antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between the intralayer nearest-neighbor sites and the interlayer third-nearest neighbor sites. As a result, superconductivity due to Bose condensation of the molecular polarons proposed before is enhanced. An exciton-like excitation similar to that observed in SmB6 and YbBla is observed to support the present model.
