The nontricyclic antidepressant trazodone and the related triazolo antidepressants nefazodone and etoperidone are monoamine uptake inhibitors. We quantified the interaction of these compounds with monoamine oxidases in vitro and in vivo. All three compounds were devoid of activity in these studies.
