## Abstract Full assignments of the ^1^H and ^13^C NMR spectra of clarithromycin (6โ€__O__โ€methylerythromycin A) in CDCl~3~ and buffered D~2~O were carried out. In contrast to erythromycin A, clarithromycin exists as a single isomer, the 9โ€ketone, in aqueous solution.
