This workbook contains 36 exercises, each of which is based on a lesson from Lesson 1 through Lesson 36 of the Vietnamese (Hanoi) Basic Course.
The purpose of these exercises iss
1. to check the student's comprehension of the material introduced to him in the lesson units,
2. to help the student in correcting his mistakes in pronunciation, vocabulary, and structure as he progresses from unit to unit, and
3. to train the student in the following skills transcription, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and translation.
The exercises are broadly divided into two types the listening type, consisting of exercises using tape-recorded material designed to help improve the student's skill in transcription and listening comprehension; and the- reading type, consisting of exercises using written material designed to help improve the student's skill in reading comprehension and translation.
Since each exercise is designed to be a complement to a lesson unit, after the student has learned the material presented in each lesson unit the class supervisor may schedule the corressponding exercise from this workbook for the student to do either in class or at home.
