✦ Synopsis
The distribution of drop diameters produced in the vicinity of a turbine impeller has been determined in a dilute iso-octane + salt water emulsion, using an electronic particle counter. The experimental distribution data have been fitted to the Schwarz-Bezemer equation with good agreement. The results are compared with theoretical predictions based on the existence of local isotropy near the impdler.
