## Abstract The fracture of Ni‐Ti superelastic alloy has been investigated by a sustained tensile‐loading test in physiological saline solution containing hydrogen peroxide (0.15__M__ NaCl + 0.3__M__ H~2~O~2~). The fracture always occurs when the applied stress exceeds the critical stress for marte

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Disposition of the fracture zones during hydrogen embrittlement is discussed by using experimental data on crack growth kinetics by stress corrosion cracking and internal hydrogen embrittlement of the titanium alloy Ti‐7 AL‐2 Zr‐1,5 Mo‐1 V. The situation of these zones ahead of the crack tip depends on the kind of embrittlement and on K~I~ and can change within wide limits.
