The cracks, as shown in Fig. 2, were characteristic of most specimens.
They were found to follow the martensite plates, sometimes switching from plate to plate in a stack of parallel plates. Cracks were also found transverse to the plates, sometimes intersecting the existing plates and sometimes terminating plates.

Luminescence spectra(4.2 K) and etch patterns of thermally deformed anthraccnc single crystals are investigated. It is shown that the Dt band with AE = 235 cm-t (where AE is the energy gap between the bottom of the exciton band and the DI band) is due to the edge dislocations with the emergences at
