✦ Synopsis

The model for this study is an extension of a discrete-time S-I-S epidemic model of Barrera et al. and Velazquez that includes populations with potentially complex (chaotic) dynamics. We study the role of various types of reproductive or recruitment regimes including contest and scramble competition on disease dynamics.
