## Abstract Mass transfer of lactic acid was investigated during its extractive recovery from fermentation broths in a hydrophobic hollow‐fibre membrane module. The solvent and the aqueous phases were continuously recycled through the hollow‐fibre module into their respective reservoirs, and the ma
