Inhibition of ion uptake to barley roots
✍ R. A. Wildes; M. G. Pitman; N. Schaefer πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 1976 πŸ› Springer-Verlag 🌐 English βš– 528 KB

Cycloheximide was shown to inhibit the transport of ions into the xylem of "salt-saturated" barley roots ( H o r d e u m v u l g a t e cv cape), and incorporation of L-[1-14C] leucine into protein within 40-60 rain. Water flow across the roots of whole seedlings was not altered for at least 180 min.

Inhibition of insulin-stimulated xylose
✍ J. R. Forsayeth; M. K. Gould πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 1983 πŸ› Springer 🌐 English βš– 443 KB

Cycloheximide (20-200 mg/l) did not affect basal D-[U-14C]xylose uptake by rat soleus muscle (2.4 +/- 0.2 mumol . g-1 . h-1). However, the stimulatory effect of insulin on sugar transport was progressively reduced from 375% above basal in control muscles to 170% in muscles exposed to 200 mg cyclohex
