✦ Synopsis

The direct separation of ␤-aminoester enantiomers by HPLC on synthetic chiral stationary phases based on aacidic derivative of trans 1,2-diaminocyclohexane as selector is described. The application of different columns containing the stationary phase with opposite configurations and in the racemic form to the determination of enantiomeric excess in chemically impure samples is demonstrated.

Several benzodiazepines were enantioresolved on a new carbohydrate chiral stationary phase based on maltooligosaccharides. The role of organic modifier, ionic strength, pH and temperature are examined and the results are discussed. In general, selectivity and retention were found to decrease with in
