โœฆ Synopsis

The absorption spectrum of jet-cooled H&3 was measured in the energy region of 1700-2300 A. The anomalous intensity in the tail is shown not to be due to excitation from excited rotational levels of the ground state. The spectral information indicates two electronic states contribute to the first absorption band of HrS. Clustering within the jet is shown to be an effective tool for identifying Rydberg states versus valence states.

The diode laser absorption spectrum of the nu(13) band of benzene cooled in a supersonic expansion has been recorded with the help of a multipass optical system built inside the vacuum chamber. Transitions from low J, K values (0-10) are reported for the first time for this band. The observed freque
