✦ Synopsis

The mean-square dipole moments of poly(methylmethacrylate~poly(4-vinylpyridine) block copolymers have been determined from dielectric constant measurements on dilute solutions in toluene at different temperatures in the range 3065°C. The temperature coefficient of the mean square dipole moment was found to be positive. Dipole moment values for block copolymers show a linear dependence on the dipole moments of component homopolymers which indicates that the intermolecular interaction between the blocks are not as high as that of random or alternating copolymers. Results are in accordance with the prediction of rotational isomeric state theory.

Poly(methylmethacrylate)-poly(4-vinylpyridine) diblock copolymers were synthesized by sequential anionic polymerization, l,l-diphenyl-3-methylpentyllithium was used as initiator and LiCI was added to the system as ligand to modify both initiator and active chain end in order to avoid side reactions.

## Abstract **Summary:** We report the multiple morphologies and their transformation of polystyrene‐__block__‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) (PS‐__b__‐P4VP) in low‐alkanol solvents. In order to improve the solubility of polystyrene block in alcohol solvents, the solution of block copolymer sample was treat
