Abstract

In this paper, an Agilent 8722ES Network Analyzer with option 085 is configured to directly measure the diode large‐signal characteristics. A set of smart microstrip calibration standards corresponding to this measurement system is also designed. Using the measured nonlinear equivalent‐circuit parameters of the diode, a matching circuit is designed to improve the power conversion efficiency from RF to DC, at an input power level of 90 mw and 200Ω load, and a maximum conversion efficiency of 70% was achieved at frequency of 9.75 GHz. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
