✦ Synopsis

It is shown that strongly non-ideal chemical reactions, exhibiting multiple equilibrium states, can occur only in the dfffusionally unstable region in the interior of the usual spinodal curve. The possibility of observing the effect of chemical nonideality in the homogeneous single-phase region near the consolute point is briefly discussed.
