## Experimental TDMEE thin films for data recording were prepared on a HOPG substrate by vacuum deposition with a deposition rate of ~5 nm min Β±1 . The thickness of the thin film was about 40 nm. The base vacuum of the deposition system was about 5 10 Β±6 torr (1 torr Β» 133 Pa), and the powder mate

β¦ Synopsis
Surface diffusion coefficients (D) have been measured for gold nanorods suspended in water on planar gold substrates. The Figure shows the composite image of sequential optical micrographs at 15 s intervals. The variation of D is more dependent on rod length than predicted by the StokesβEinstein equation, consistent with a frictional interaction between the rod and the surface.
