Resonances associated with excitation of K-shell electrons in N2 and CH4 are observed for the first time in the elastic scattering channel. In Nf, (1s~)~\*(2pz)\* resonant states associated with (Is0)-~(2prr) lII and 311 parent states are located at 401.95 and 399.3 eV. ln CH4, a resonant state of p
