✦ Synopsis

The differential elastic ROSS sections (ebb < 20") for I_?-Ar, Kr, Xc have been measured for 3 < E,m_ < 9 eV and compared with those predicted from the electron &IS theory of Gardon and Kim for closed shcli systems. The experimental weU depths are typically deeper than predicted by theory. The largest discrepancy of 3% waz found for Li+-Kr.

Differential cross sectiona for the scattering of N3 (velocity selected beam) by Ar (nozzle beam) were measured at different kinetic energies in the range E = 7.73 -15.6 x lo-14 erg. r?om the rainbow scattering the well depths = 1.63 -L 0.15 x lo-14 erg has been deduced for an assumed L.-J. (I2.6) p
