✦ Synopsis

The results of his studies of Coxa plana (PEI~THES' disease) as well as Luxatio coxae congenita led the ~uthor to the opinion that the majority of the eases treated at the Orthopedic Department of the Surg. Clinic Innsbruck in the years 1952--1966 and diagnosed as Osteochondritis dissecans of the hip joint did not represent the outcome of local circulatory disorders but a condition resulting from the unnoticed spontaneous repositioa of a congenital dislocation of the hip joint.

Zusammenhssung. ])as l:~esultat seines Studiums fiber Coxa plana (Perthessche Krankheir) sowie Luxatio coxae congenita ffihren den Verfasser zu der Anschauung, dab es sich bei der Mehrzahl der Falle, welche in den Jahren 1952--1966 die Orthopgdische Abteilung der Chirurgisehen Universitatsklinik Innsbruck aufsuehten und als O.d. des Hfiftgelenks di~gnostiziert wurden, nicht um die Folge von lokalen ZirkulationsstSrungen, sondern um den Folgezustand einer unbemerkt spontan eingerenkten angeborenen Hfiftverrenkung handelte.
