✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Zr 2 (C 18 H 15 OSi) 6 (OH) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]ÁC 7 H 8 , is a dimeric Zr IV compound. The asymmetric unit consists of two half-molecules of the complex and a toluene solvent molecule. The zirconium centres are bridged by two -hydroxo ligands. Each Zr is octahedrally coordinated by the hydroxo groups, three triphenylsilanolato groups and an additional water ligand. The centres of both Zr 2 O 2 rings are located on crystallographic centres of inversion. The two independent monomeric units differ significantly with respect to the Zr-O-Si bond angles which is most probably due to the high steric demands of three triphenylsilanolato ligands.

The reaction of ferric sulfate with ethylenediamine in the presence of acid under hydrothermal conditions results in the title compound, (C 2 H 10 N 2 ) 2 [Fe III (OH)(SO 4 ) 2 ](SO 4 )ÁH 2 O. The six-coordinate ferrate dianion participates in a 2 -hydroxo-di-2 -sulfate-bridged chain. The component
The dinuclear title compound, [Sn~2~(CH~3~)~2~(C~6~H~5~)~2~(C~7~H~3~NO~4~)~2~(H~2~O)~2~]·2CHCl~3~, crystallizes as a dichloroform solvate; the centrosymmetric compound has Sn in a seven-coordinate, __trans__-pentagonal–bipyramidal geometry. The dicarboxylate unit is tetradentate; it binds through th
