A biosensor was constructed by covalently attaching pyruvate oxidase at the surface of electrodeposited polytyramine. The resulting biosensor is sensitive to pyruvate with a linear calibration plot in the concentration range of 0.1 ± 3.0 mM pyruvate, slope 0.42 mA mM À1 and the detection limit was 0
