β¦ Synopsis
The American Society for Testing and Materials is developing standards for the emerging solar energy technologies. For the field of photovoltalc energy conversion the evolution and present status of a standard test method and of its supporting documents are described. The method applies to fiatplate single-cell devices. It is characterized by the use of a reference cell to measure the irradiance. Standards for photovoltaic modules and arrays as well as for concentrator systems are under development.
