✦ Synopsis
Deterministic analysis is becoming increasingly popular to study the theoretical mechanisms of modulation, as opposed to the classical noise-shaping approach. This paper gives an overview of its application to the speciÿc problem of signal reconstruction. Once an input signal has been processed through a modulator of given speciÿcations, the fundamental question is to know what deterministic information can be retrieved about this signal from the output. The paper summarizes all results obtained in this research under a uniÿed presentation framework. ?

The aim of this paper is to introduce the theory and techniques of non-linear discrete-time dynamics to the non-specialist and to describe some of the ways in which this material has been applied to the study of sigma-delta modulators. It is aimed at readers who are familiar with sigma-delta systems
In this paper, an e!ective active predictive control algorithm is developed for the vibration control of non-linear hysteretic structural systems subjected to earthquake excitation. A new method for finding the set of all operating points of non-linear resistive circuits is suggested. It takes into account the fact that the circuit equations are in the so-called separable form where any equation f G ), each term depending on a single variable. The method is based on the introd
We consider methods for adaptive updating of computational meshes during incremental loading of non-linear shell and solid structures. In particular, we focus on updating methods where the initial topology of the mesh is maintained. The movement of the mesh (the convective step) is decoupled from th
A modal procedure for non-linear analysis of multistorey structures with high-damping base-isolation systems was proposed. Two different isolation devices were considered in the analysis: an high-damping laminated rubber bearing and a lead-rubber bearing. Starting from deformational properties verif
