Abstract
The position and the isotope distribution within labelled compounds can be determined by NMR by analysing the difference spectrum, and its integral, of the labelled and the corresponding parent compound. The method is applied to mβterphenyl and it 4β4β³βdideutero derivative.

## Abstract Chemical shifts of the ring protons are determined by ^1^H NMR of 99% deuterated toluene. At low temperatures the deuterons relax rapidly, yielding sharp ^1^H peaks for the __ortho__, __meta__ and __para__ protons. These are compared with shifts obtained by other methods.
## Abstract This contribution describes the structure elucidation of dimeric and trimeric oxidation products derived from natural (2__R__,4β²__R__,8β²__R__)βΞ±β and (2__R__,4β²__R__,8β²__R__)βΞ³βtocopherol, the most important lipidβsoluble vitamin E compounds and antioxidants in biological systems. ## Abstract Keto aldoses usually form complex mixtures of equilibrating isomers in solution. This is due to the two different positions that may be used for ring closure in dicarbonyl sugars. The composition of various 2βketo aldoses **1**β**5** and **8**, the 3βketo aldose 2βdeoxyβDβ__erythro__βhe
