This contribution presents a closed-form solution for the location of the acceleration center of a rigid body subjected to spatial motion. Moreover, all the special cases are deduced and analyzed by a systematic analysis of the conditions under which the closed-form solution cannot be computed. We introduce a concept of weak solution for a boundary value problem modelling the motion of a rigid body immersed in a viscous fluid. The time variation of the fluid's domain (due to the motion of the rigid body) is not known a priori, so we deal with a free boundary value problem. Our main theorem
