β¦ Synopsis
An atomic absolption method was developed for determining silicon in streptomycin without prior separation. The method has a reproducibility of *2.2 ppm and a detection limit of 5 ppm silicon. Ash-fused and untreated samples were compared, and a deuterium arc background corrector indicated a moderately high bias in the results.
