β¦ Synopsis
Two methods are presented for obtaining rate constant of two-step reactions A, Ft A, Ft As by means of chemical relaxation technique when two relaxation times ate of the same order of magnitude. Both methods employ nonlinear estimation. The first method involves obtaining the relaxation times directly from the transient response data whereas the second method involves obtaining zeroes and poles of the transfer function which, in turn, is obtained from numerical Fourier transformation of pulse response data The two methods are compared by using the results obtained from computergenerated 'experimental' data.
