USing a rotating gold ring-lead disc electrode and analysing the deposit on the ring surface with Xray photoelectron spectroscopy, soluble Pb(IV) species were detected during the auodic reaction of the PbS04/Pb02 electrode in sulfuric acid. The Pb(IV) species are not intermediates in the PbOs format
