✦ Synopsis

A novel thin layer chromatographic method has been developed.for easy detection and identijcation of benzoic dialkyl phosphorodithioic anhydrides in pesticide formulations. It essentially consists of running thin layer chromatograms of the suspected pesticide alone and in presence of aniline, followed by spraying withjuorescein in ethanol. The reaction of aniline with anhydrides is highly specijc and facilitates their easy detection in presence o f the common organophosphorus ester pesticides.
