A superconducting single electron transistor device has been designed and fabricated inside a ring which deΓΏnes a shallow pool of liquid helium. The objective is to detect electrons trapped above the surface of the super uid helium. Preliminary results are presented.

We investigate the electronic transport properties of a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)-conjugated carbon nanotube (CNT) field effect transistor (CNTFET) device. The CNTFET exhibited a strong decrease of the drain current after DNA conjugation. The observed decrease can be explained by the formation of
