A series of bipolar surfactants, \(\omega\)-hydroxyalkyldimethyloctadecylammonium bromide \{HADMOA( \(n\) ); \(\omega\)-hydroxyalkyl chain length \(\boldsymbol{n}=\mathbf{1 0}, 12,14,16,18,20\}\) were synthesized and the monolayer behavior at the air-water interface was studied. The isotherms of the
