Abstract
Partially reflective surface antenna (PRSA) contains a highly reflective sheet and a perfect conductor (or ground plane) separated by a half wavelength. Usually, the reflective sheet is constructed by etching uniformly spaced patch elements on a supporting dielectric. In this article, an inhomogeneous spaced partial reflective sheet with an enlarged dielectric rim is investigated. We found that efficiency of the antenna can be optimized with a suitable dielectric size. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
