Abstract
This paper contrasts the solutions given by the geometrical optics‐uniform theory of diffraction (GO‐UTD) and the physical optics‐stationary phase (PO‐SPM) methods when they are applied to the problem of analysis of on‐board antennas. Results for both approximations are given for antennas on board a satellite mock‐up. Advantages and drawbacks of both methods are shown. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
