✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Compact coupled stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) are used to design the bandpass filter (BPF) with a wide stopband. In the filter design, two different physical dimensions of the SIRs are used to produce proper required coupling for the frequency response with wide spurious suppression. The theory and guidelines for selecting the geometric parameters of SIRs are clearly presented in this paper. The BPF designed with center frequency (f~0~) at 2.45 GHz has a stopband extended up to 20 GHz (8.16__f__~0~) and an average rejection level better than 25 dB. Good agreement between the electromagnetic simulation and measurement is observed. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A pseudo-interdigital stepped impedance resonator (SIR) bandpass filter (BPF) using tapped I/O is designed and fabricated. By using a pseudo-interdigital structure and the SIR, the proposed BPF gains advantages of compactness and high selectivity. In this paper, the first and second spurious respons

## Abstract In this article, a compact bandpass filter is proposed for lower band (3.1–4.9 GHz) of ultra‐wideband applications. The filter is mainly composed of a pseudo‐interdigital wideband bandpass filter (PI‐WBF) and a multiple transmission‐zeros structure (MTZS), being a bandstop filter. By us
