✦ Synopsis

Abstract

This paper presents a new approach for the design of a miniature microstrip cross‐coupled resonator filter. This filter has been made more compact by using cross coupling between non‐adjacent resonators and inserting parallel‐coupled lines between the ends of each resonator that are designed for reduced size. The reduced‐size resonators are integrated within a compact design to provide a λ/2 by λ/8 six‐pole filter. A novel tuning technique is used to perform fine adjustments on filter response. Results are presented to evaluate filter performance. Very close agreement is obtained between numerical and measured performance of such filters. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A new planar slotted‐patch resonator is proposed for RF and microwave bandpass filter design. The novelty of the proposed resonator is that it can reduce the size of the filter significantly. It is found that the resonant frequency of the resonator is reduced (for example, by 61%). A du

A miniaturized end-coupled microstrip band-pass filter is realized using stepped-impedance resonators (SIR). An experimental filter is designed at 5.7 GHz with a bandwidth of 300 MHz. The step impedance ratio of the SIR is 0.5. This filter exhibits compact size and spurious response that is not harm
