Abstract
In this article, a novel omnidirectional semicircular disk antenna is investigated both numerically and experimentally. Two prototypes of different dimensions are fabricated and measured, resulting in a best impedance bandwidth ratio of more than 80:1. The antenna is considerably promising for future ultrawide‐band applications. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The analysis and design of an omnidirectional antenna that functions over a very broad frequency band is presented. Design guidelines for this antenna have been derived using electromagnetic analysis software. Measured results of a prototype developed according to these guidelines are p
## Abstract A novel design of semicircular slot antenna with dual‐broadband operation for 2.4/5 GHz wireless local network area (WLAN) is proposed. With the use of an arc‐shaped strip inset along the circle edge of the semicircular slot antenna, a new resonant mode close to the second operating mod
In this paper, we propose a frequency-notched ultrawideband (UWB) slot antenna. The proposed antenna can cover the entire UWB band and the IEEE 802.11a frequency band can be notched out by inserting a hat-shaped slot into the antenna. The path loss ͉S 21 ͉ and group delay are measured and discussed.
## Abstract In this paper, we propose a small, lightweight, and low‐cost ultra‐wideband (UWB) antenna that exhibits a notch characteristic in the 5‐GHz WLAN band (5.15–5.825 GHz) using a planar half‐circle shape patch, a two‐step matching stub, a coplanar waveguide (CPW)‐type feed, and a hat‐shaped
## Abstract A two‐element diversity planar antenna for a multiple‐input multiple‐output application is proposed. By adopting two Y‐shaped radiators, the antenna provides wideband impedance matching characteristics over the desired frequency band. To reduce the mutual coupling between two radiating
