✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel CPW‐fed monopole UWB antenna is presented in this article. To increase the impedance bandwidth, a notched ground is introduced. The parameters and the characteristics of the antenna are given. The optimized antenna presents 3.8:1 ratio bandwidth and 116.7% impedance bandwidth for VSWR less than 2. Simulations and measurements are presented for the proposed antenna. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
