✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel CPW‐fed monopole UWB antenna is presented in this article. To increase the impedance bandwidth, a notched ground is introduced. The parameters and the characteristics of the antenna are given. The optimized antenna presents 3.8:1 ratio bandwidth and 116.7% impedance bandwidth for VSWR less than 2. Simulations and measurements are presented for the proposed antenna. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A coplanar waveguide (CPW)‐fed ultra‐wideband staircase monopole antenna with a frequency‐notch characteristic is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a planar four‐step staircase rectangular monopole with a ground short‐circuited stub, open stubs at the ground part, and two‐step
## Abstract A newly designed microstrip feed, octagonal‐shaped ultra‐wideband printed antenna is proposed. The UWB operation within the required 3.1–10.6 GHz band is achieved by simply embedding in the ground plane a small rectangular slit, located below the feed line of an octagonal patch. With th
This article presents, asymmetric coplanar strip fed half monopole UWB antenna to cover the ultra-wideband frequency operation. The antenna has staircase shape and very small volume (12 Â 21 Â 1 mm 3 ). The band-rejection operation achieve at the WLAN (5.15-5.85 GHz) band by adding spiral defected r
